I am sick to death of people saying that society is to blame for what is considered beautiful.
I know that you open magazines and see commercials on the TV filled with girls who look a certain way but if you think that you are ugly because you don’t look like them, do not blame society, blame your own negative thinking. Society is not telling you that you are ugly, you are.
Yes, society does some fucked up things but it does not make you hate yourself. It does not make you think you are ugly. Your thoughts are your own. Your feelings are your own. Stop blaming others for the way you feel about yourself.
It’s not so much that the girls look like that, it’s that magazines have a terrible habit of pointing out if someone has gained weight for no good reason, when someone has a spot, etc. It’s somewhat difficult to read a magazine where they talk about a celebrity, criticising the slight tummy she gained, or the chunky thighs, or whatever and then look at your own body and notice that you’ve got a slight tummy and chunky thighs. And men have a habit of reblogging and talking about women with immaculate bodies (photoshopped or not) so it often gives the impression of that’s what they want in a woman…
I agree with this. At first I was like society influences our thoughts. But then again it’s our choice hat we choose to...
It’s not so much...like that, it’s that magazines have
